Welcome, Hope for the Heart Enthusiasts!

Hope for the Heart provides wonderful video course materials for people to learn and apply in their lives and churches. Such learning and experiences can earn credit toward an accredited master’s degree in biblical studies from Redemption Seminary. Advanced theological learning (presented in a format for adults with busy lives) is a wonderful way to enhance and deepen the practical theology you have learned from Hope for the Heart.

Fill out the inquiry form below and let us know about your experience to start the process to see what qualifies as transfer credit.

How It Works

Apply Any Amount of Experience

Let us know how you have applied theology in your life and your church to see what can count toward the accredited Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS) degree.

9 TRANSFER CREDITS Example

If fully trained in the Hope for the Heart curriculum (caregiver course and all topics), up to 9 credits toward MABS can be applied to the Theology in Culture & Context category, and the Discipleship course. If less, give partial credit.

Applying to Redemption Seminary

State Eligibility

Residents outside of the U.S. are welcome to apply, but currently, there are some states (AK, CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, MI, NV, NY, OR, RI, UT, WY) where Redemption Seminary has not yet received authorization to serve their residents online. If you are a resident of one of these states please fill out the Inquiry Form below so we can let you know when that state becomes available for us to serve residents.

Academic Eligibility

As a graduate school, Redemption Seminary must maintain an admission policy for its master’s program that requires an accredited undergraduate degree. However, each year Redemption can offer a limited number of qualified exceptions to this policy for those who can demonstrate prior learning equivalent to an undergraduate degree.

No prerequisite is required to take non-graded courses.

Process

Hope for the Heart and Redemption Seminary are separate institutions. You must apply to Redemption Seminary to take Redemption courses.

How Long Will it Take to Complete the Redemption Program?

Redemption Seminary courses take about 15 hours per week if you want to complete them in 7 weeks. The Redemption program at a moderately fast pace is 12 eight-week terms (but earning transfer credit could remove some terms). Most people prefer to protect themselves (ensuring that they will complete everything by their last mentor session) by working through the course material before meeting with a mentor. It would be normal for a student to complete transferrable Hope for the Heart courses and the Redemption program concurrently in 2-3 years.

Benefits of Redemption

  • Lectures recorded from well-known scholars

  • Start immediately and work at your own pace (100% online)

  • Workbook approach

  • Weekly individual meetings with mentors you choose (assess work in a conversational setting rather than high-stakes exams)

  • All materials (books) included. Logos Redemption Library is gifted upon graduation to students who complete all the MABS courses. If SF511 and RS731 are skipped, students have the option to receive the library if they pay a $400 library fee ($200 per skipped course) charged at the time of graduation. This is optional and only needs to be paid if you want to keep the library.
