Dr. Judson Greene
Dr. Judson Greene holds a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies with a New Testament emphasis from the University of Cambridge. A scholar of New Testament interpretation and biblical theology, he is the author of Cosmic Eschatology in Hebrews and is currently writing the Lexham Research Commentary on the Gospel of Luke. Alongside his academic work, Judson has spent over a decade discipling, teaching, and preaching in local church contexts, and currently serves at Laramie Anglican Fellowship in Wyoming.
Passionate about mentoring students, Judson especially enjoys one-on-one learning environments where thoughtful conversation leads to discovery. His work bridges careful biblical exposition with practical Christian living, while drawing on interests that range from Greco-Roman philosophy and the church fathers to literature, music, and the arts—including a fond appreciation for the writings of Flannery O’Connor.
Dr. Judson Greene (Ph.D., M.A.)
Dr. Judson Greene completed a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies with a New Testament emphasis at the University of Cambridge. Before that, he did an MA in Biblical Languages and a BA in Humanities at Bob Jones University. And before that, his mom taught him to use good manners, to love the Bible, and to never stop learning. He has written a book—Cosmic Eschatology in Hebrews—and a handful of articles on New Testament interpretation and biblical theology. He is currently writing the Lexham Research Commentary on the Gospel of Luke.
Judson is a theological mutt. He likes Presbyterian church order, Anglican liturgy, and Baptist—well—baptism. He also likes to keep the main the main thing: Jesus died and rose so that we can die to sin and live to God. That said, he has lots of time for philosophical speculations, historical minutiae, and other disparate miscellany. Judson has discipled, taught, and preached in various church contexts for over a decade. Currently, he preaches weekly at Laramie Anglican Fellowship—a small church plant in Laramie, WY. His passion is bridging careful exposition of the Bible with its practical ramifications for Christian life.
For the past five years, he has taught and mentored students in both the US and UK. He particularly loves collaborating one-on-one with students, thinking through problems together, and using conversation as a mode of discovery. Judson is a big believer in the notion that artistic intuition and analytical rigor complement one another.
His scholarship explores New Testament interpretation, particularly surrounding questions of the atonement, the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament, and anything that has to do with the Letter to the Hebrews. His research interacts with Greco-Roman philosophy, lexicography, and how the New Testament was interpreted by the church fathers. Beyond biblical studies, he has composed and recorded two albums, won $1,000 doing magic tricks in talent contests, and has a keen interest in art, film, and literature (especially Flannery O’Connor). He is also a published poet and essayist.
Dr. Gayle Doornbos
Gayle Doornbos is an experienced teacher who has taught students online and in the classroom at Calvin Theological Seminary and Wycliffe College. Gayle also teaches regularly at her local church. She loves seeing the way that sustained engagement with Scripture and theology can transform and enrich the faith and practice of Christians.
Gayle Doornbos (Ph.D., Th.M., M.T.S.)
Gayle Doornbos is passionate about working with students to help them integrate their theological understanding with their personal piety and turn the particulars of theology into publicly relevant and socially constructive practice. She is an experienced teacher who has taught students online and in the classroom at Calvin Theological Seminary and Wycliffe College, and Dordy University. Gayle also teaches regularly at her local church. She loves seeing the way that sustained engagement with Scripture and theology can transform and enrich the faith and practice of Christians.
Gayle earned her doctorate at the University of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto, where she focused on Trinitarian theology. She also holds a Th.M. in Philosophical Theology and a M.T.S. in Biblical Studies from Calvin Theological Seminary. Gayle grew up as a pastor’s kid in New Mexico, where her love of theology was cultivated from an early age. She has also spent a significant amount of time living and working with academic and ecclesial communities in Michigan and Canada. She currently lives in Lynden, WA and continues to cultivate her love for theology by writing, researching, and teaching. She also loves the mountains and goes hiking any chance that she gets.
