Where Students Can Find Help

Places to Look for Instructions

The Orientation and Support Guide always remains open for all students to review. It provides instructions, tutorials, and helpful information about your course workflow, including Logos and Zotero.

The Student Handbook is a treasure trove of information on how students, mentors, and the administration work together.

The Course Catalog.pdf provides an overview of Redemption Seminary’s academic programs, course offerings, graduation requirements, fees, and refund policy.

Help with Logos

If you are looking for help with Logos software, Logos has great videos for students in partner institutions like Redemption Seminary. www.logos.com/student-training

Help with Google Docs

Google has a great search function 😁. Often, you can type a question in the Google search bar at Google.com, and the first result will answer your question. Google also has a support forum. There are also Google Docs video tutorials on YouTube.

Help with Zotero

We recommend and provide some training for students to use Zotero (no cost for students) as their reference manager. At the master’s level, it is important to use a manager to track citation sources, quotes, and personal commentary on resources. Zotero can be an excellent tool for that. There are many tutorials for performing various tasks in Zotero on YouTube. Zotero also has a support forum for users. It also has a thorough online manual organized by topics with a quick start guide, a knowledge base, and a place with frequently asked questions.

If you find yourself having difficulties with Zotero, please don't let it slow you down. You are welcome to use any other system to manage sources and references. Zotero works best with the Firefox browser, but it also has “Zotero Connector” plugins for native browsers such as Safari, Edge, and Chrome, which may work better with your computer’s security settings.

Contacting Others for Help

Peer Groups

Faithlife Groups

Logos Software hosts online discussion boards for various types of groups.

Most importantly, there is the Redemption Seminary Faithlife Group, which we encourage you to check out, join, and follow: https://faithlife.com/redemption-seminary/activity

There is also a Faithlife Group for each of the Logos Mobile Ed courses. All of Redemption's courses use lectures from one or more of these Mobile Ed courses, and you may find it helpful to interact with others on the Faithlife Group boards. For example, Redemption's course "SF511 Spiritual Formation for Ministry Leaders" uses the Mobile Ed course "LD102 The Ministry Leader and the Inner Life," which has a Faithlife Group at the following web address: https://faithlife.com/ld102/activity

You can use the search bar on Faithlife.com to find the Groups for other Mobile Ed courses. Occasionally, you may be asked to post to a Faithlife Group as you progress through your coursework.

Populi Discussion Groups

While the Faithlife Groups described above are open to everyone, Redemption's learning management system (Populi) also offers a “Groups” feature that you may use to interact with your fellow students and faculty. Populi access is limited to accepted students, faculty, and staff, so this is our preferred group for communication between members of the Redemption community. You can see a list of available Populi Groups at the following web address (login required): https://redemption.populiweb.com/router/groups/index. The primary group we encourage all students and faculty to join is the Redemption Community Bulletin Board.

Questions about Services

Logos

If you have questions about Logos Bible Software, there is a great forum with very helpful users who have the experience and generosity to answer most questions about using Logos: https://community.logos.com/forums/

You can also email or call Logos customer support for help at cs@logos.com or (888) 563-0382. This is where to go if you have questions about accessing Logos resources for your account.

Registration and Learning Support

Email registrar@redemption.edu with questions about registering with a mentor, your tuition, or your student file. Please direct questions about the course subject matter or curriculum content to your mentor-professor. Part of building your Course Portfolio for each course is noting questions you have about the course content. You can do this by tagging them in a comment in your Course Portfolio Google Doc and in your Zoom discussions.

Between each 8-week term, we can review how things are going in each course and make corrections and improvements to the curriculum. If you have a list of items that could help improve the course you completed, please submit them to us at the end of the term by emailing academicadmin@redemption.edu, or share your feedback in the Course Completion Survey we ask all students to complete in Populi when they complete a course.
