History of the Redemption University Brand
The Redemption University public brand began in 2020 as the site for accessing Redemption Seminary’s graduate-level courses at www.Redemption.University. The domain was registered and put into use on 4/25/2019 (which can be verified in the Whois Registration Database.) Courses were developed that year for Redemption Seminary, and the first student began taking courses through Redemption Seminary using its Redemption University site on 2/6/2020. This service continues to the present delivering courses that DEAC accredits through Redemption Seminary’s institutional accreditation. This function and service has been uninterrupted since 2020 with over 300 students taking courses in this time.
Many states restrict the use of the term “university.” Redemption Seminary (which includes Redemption University) has explicit approvals or exemptions for enrolling students from all the states it serves (nearly 40). See the Higher Education Act 1992.
Redemption University is a formally recognized trade name for Redemption Seminary in its home state, Arizona. Redemption University is part of Redemption Seminary (accredited by DEAC), which offers multiple programs and has partnerships with various ministries, churches, and institutions from which it accepts transfer credit. Redemption Seminary is doing business as Redemption University to better describe its services. Redemption University is still the course delivery platform for all courses, and its division for undergraduate programs shares the domain for accredited institutions, Redemption.edu.
