Dr. Charles Fox (D.Ed.Min.)

He eventually went on to earn an MA degree in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2016, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Most recently, he completed a DEdMin from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2024 with his area of concentration being Applied Theology. His doctoral ministry project was on how to train church staff in Bible study methods with a focus on equipping them to teach others better.

Dr. Fox’s denominational background has been varied within the evangelical tradition. He started out in a small Baptist church and attended a Bible college in the Mennonite tradition while serving as a youth pastor in a Presbyterian church. He next spent a little over a year as a small rural Christian Union church pastor. After some years, he became a part of a church that is part of the Vineyard Movement and was attracted to its emphasis on the central teachings of the Bible that are plainly taught instead of on a detailed statement of faith enumerating debatable issues, as well as other Vineyard distinctives. Like many others have experienced, he did not become Vineyard; he discovered that he was Vineyard.

Significant influences on this thinking have been C.S. Lewis, George Eldon Ladd, and Francis Schaeffer. He is very comfortable with differing beliefs on secondary matters. His focus is much more on how our beliefs influence how we “do church” than on academic debates over arcane matters.

He has taught in the Classical Christian movement for six years with courses focused in the humanities (theology, biblical studies, Greek, history, and rhetoric), with a particular affinity for Greek, biblical studies, biblical theology, church history, sacramental theology, and Thomas Aquinas.

Dr. Andrew Talbert (Ph.D.)

Dr. Talbert completed his bachelor's degree in German language at the University of Florida, his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary, and his PhD in Theology (with a focus on hermeneutics, reception aesthetics, and 2 Thessalonians) at the University of Nottingham under Prof. Anthony Thiselton.

Dr. Talbert grew up in the Presbyterian Church and was ordained a deacon in the PCUSA, continuing this affiliation with Presbyterianism when he pursued ordination with ECO. Currently, he identifies with the Anglican (ACNA) tradition and is pursuing ordination to the diaconate. His background is broadly Reformed, evangelical, and ecumenical.

His first involvement in a ministerial role was as a deacon in the PCUSA. During seminary, he was a Children’s Ministry Director at a German-speaking Methodist Church with responsibilities over every aspect of that ministry (e.g., curriculum, instruction, events, communication, etc.). For years he has served as a guest preacher and a Sunday school teacher at churches in the US, the UK, and Indonesia.

In addition to teaching at various levels within the church, Dr. Talbert has taught at the university and seminary level for five years (three of those in a full-time capacity), as well as having been a teaching assistant and a course facilitator for several additional years. Dr. Bruce Clark (Ph.D.)

Dr. Clark received his PhD from the University of Cambridge (under Simon Gathercole), focusing on the intersection of suffering, mission and Christology in Paul’s letters. A lover of both Hebrew and Greek, his passion is twofold: (i) the humble, prayerful, rigorous interpretation of Scripture and (ii) the hope-filled, wisdom-imparting application of Scripture in a way that both equips today's church and engages contemporary culture. Areas of scholarly interest include: Hebrew and Greek exegesis, Pentateuchal narrative and ethics, the Psalter, Mark's Gospel, the pastoral theology of Paul, political theology, and parenting. A pastor with diverse ministry experiences (young adults, college ministry, cross-cultural missions work, small group ministry, and church revitalization), he has taught courses at Westminster and Covenant seminaries (both online and in person). Two years ago he founded Interpret Consulting to help preachers strengthen their skills in both biblical and cultural exegesis; today he helps pastors (from diverse theological traditions) throughout North America preach to over 17,000 listeners each Sunday (see www.interpretconsulting.net). Dr. Andrew Koperski

Dr. Koperksi completed his doctorate in History at Ohio State University, which focused on ancient history broadly, with areas of specialization in late antiquity, early Christianity, and the later Roman Empire. In general, he is a fervent believer in Lewis’s notion of mere Christianity. That is, Christians really ought to master fundamental beliefs and disciplines before turning attention to disputable issues, which should then be handled irenically. For that reason, he is able to work well with students of varying theological backgrounds.

Andrew Koperski (Ph.D., M.A.)

Dr. Koperski graduated with a double-major in Latin and History from Hillsdale College in 2015. At Ohio University, he earned a Master’s degree in Ancient History in 2018, with a thesis researching early Christian traditions about the Virgin Mary. He completed his doctorate in History at Ohio State University, which focused on ancient history broadly, with areas of specialization in late antiquity, early Christianity, and the later Roman Empire. Specifically, his dissertation considered the evolution in ancient notions of textual authenticity and their effect on early Christian conceptions of scriptural authority, especially as these categories were regulated by bishops.

He describes his background as “evangelical,” Over the course of his life, he attended churches of varying traditions: everything from megachurches to small Anglican parishes. In the last several years especially, he has settled into the Baptist tradition by conviction on several notable issues (e.g., credobaptism).

Foundational influences on his thinking include standard recent lights such as C.S. Lewis and N.T. Wright. He also admires much of Dallas Williard’s larger project, and J. R. R. Tolkien’s stories have shaped much of his moral thinking. From among the church fathers, he appreciates much in Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, and Eusebius. In general, he is a fervent believer in Lewis’s notion of mere Christianity. That is, Christians really ought to master fundamental beliefs and disciplines before turning attention to disputable issues, which should then be handled irenically. For that reason, he is able to work well with students of varying theological backgrounds.

During his college years, he eventually became a youth pastor, filling in a vacancy at his home church, and later became the young adult and college career pastor. Throughout his ministry experience, he has served as an associate pastor, outreach pastor, and executive pastor of a small church. Much of his ministry career has been in church planting. Therefore his ministry experience has been bi-vocational; and for the last seventeen years, Travis has been employed as a state government employee in public safety.

Travis first started teaching when he was a young adult in his church and taught Sunday school each week. Later in his adult life, he gained more experience teaching other pastors and church leaders in a local school of ministry in Arizona specializing in adult education, helping those in ministry become credentialed within his denomination. He began teaching academically in 2016 for Arizona Christian University in both the Criminal Justice Studies and Biblical Studies programs.
