Timothy Melton (D.Min., M.Div.)
Dr. Melton is the senior pastor at Wilcrest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He has a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Melton also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education from Howard Payne University. He is a member of the International Christian Coaching Association and has a Diploma in Professional Life Coaching from the American Association of Christian Counselors.
He is a Husband / Father / Pastor / Teacher / Counselor who has 25+ years of experience in multi-cultural ministry in both the United States and the secular society of Europe. Dr. Melton has served as a pastor, a bi-vocational church planter, a teacher, a student minister, a worship leader, and in various other ministry roles in the local church.
Dr. Melton sensed a call to ministry at the age of 18. Ministry has taken him from Texas, to rural South Dakota, to urban South Florida, to Madrid, Spain and now to Houston. He is a lover of family, an avid reader, a fan of history, a student of cultures, and a life-long learner. Whether it be music or sport, food or friendship, Dr. Melton seeks to enjoy the simple blessings of life while walking in both truth and grace.
His specialties are preaching, pastoral ministry, spiritual formation, counseling, and cross-cultural ministry. He is greatly committed to the Holy Scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the truth that carries us through every moment of every day.
Dr. Melton seeks to invest in the next generation of pastors who will be empowered by the Spirit, equipped for excellence in ministry, and tethered to Christ as the source of all that they will need in the service of their Lord.
